We built the Gander Mountain baitcaster with a magnetic brake system that gives you precise control over spool speed throughout the cast. The external adjustment dial lets you fine-tune brake tension without opening the side plate, so you can adapt instantly to changing lure weights and wind conditions.

We recommend 12 to 20-pound monofilament or 30 to 50-pound braided line for optimal performance. The reel comes pre-spooled with 12-pound mono, which is ideal for general bass fishing applications.
